Linesave UK Ltd is a local business paradox. It enjoys fast growing success throughout the UK but is still virtually unknown in its native Shropshire. Shropshire entrepreneur John Peters incorporated Linesave in 1999, following a successful career in Direct Marketing. He saw then that the Internet, regardless of the fallout from the bursting of the ‘Dot Com Bubble’, was going to be the new frontier of real business opportunity.

The company has evolved in line with the growth of Internet based business, starting with selling and registering domain names. A focus on Search Engine Optimisation followed until, frustrated with the poor quality of many e-commerce sites that the company was trying to optimise, John saw that Linesave could provide a better solution by building e-commerce sites from the ground up already fully optimised for high search engine rankings.

Linesave’s ‘Fully optimised Shopping Cart Website Solution’, now already in its third generation, was the answer. Since the Linesave team started to use their latest redesign of this programme in November last year an already successful business has leapt into a new dimension. Turnover has grown by 300% and recruitment is a priority with team numbers up from a just four twelve months ago to eighteen today. The e-Commerce division alone handles over £60000 worth of site builds per month with a standard site costing as little as £995. But Linesave is not just a ‘one trick pony’ company. There is also a thriving business in providing bespoke Content Managed Solutions for client websites, particularly in the Recruitment Consultancy and Hospitality markets. Behind the scenes more new products are nearing completion. Not surprisingly the work rate in the offices overlooking the Square in Shrewsbury is hectic but very positive. John Peters is now keen to replicate the Linesave’s national success at local level and create great business for Shropshire’s web retailers.
